About Us
Our Background
Established on July 30, 2019, this Free Company was a tiny community amongst friends we've met on other games. This Free Company was given the name Indestructible, and we did much content with our friends. However, friends began departing to different horizons and interests over time, leaving a slowly deteriorating Free Company. In October 2020, the Free Company was revamped into Sauce, and ever since then, we've welcomed and met many fantastic members and still are!

The Sauce's vibe has always been to have fun with everyone and embrace the happy laughter that comes with the game and community. You'll often find members interested in most of the content you would like to try. Not only that, we have many events and goals of which we'd love for all members to be a part. These help sturdy the bonds and give back to the community because the Sauce wouldn't exist without its great members!
And so, if you believe Sauce is a potential community you wish to be a part of, submit your application now! We're here as a loving Sauce family and look forward to you becoming one with the Sauce.

The Ways of the Sauce

Respect Our Peers and Members
As it is applied to every environment, respect always goes a long way and builds a safer community. We welcome everyone no matter their backgrounds, so we require that you show respect. Any knowledge of a member(s) being purposely rude, racist, elitist, threatening, or putting down members and players will result of permanent removal. If at any time issues escalate, please contact leaders with great detail. Refer to Conflict for more info.

Help and Support Each Other
We've all been there, starting a brand-new game where you don't know everyone and how everything works. We should all communicate and help each other out and support how people play the game, without rushing their agenda for you. We all have a life outside of FFXIV, and so our schedules are different, so let's be there for each other whenever we are able to play and hang out with each other!

Positivity Is Always Welcomed
We are humans, and that being said, there will be times where members are frustrated about something, exhausted from work, not feeling well, or aren't understanding something, etc. And so, we should all keep a positive vibe for this game because it is often our getaway from IRL things. It is fine to vent on things to get off your chest, but please keep in mind that it may also affect other members' moods. Constant negative demeanor and comments only spreads bad vibes to everyone. So lets uplift the Sauce community and create a fun and relaxing environment.

Spoiler-Free Environment
We have tons of players at different parts of the game and so we ask that you reserve and be conscious about potential spoilers being discussed in the Sauce communications. There is a channel in Discord (#spoilers) if you wish to do so.
Note: When sharing information about upcoming news or information, please refrain from posting anything that isn't officially from Square Enix, in order to halt false information.

Spice Tolerance
Often times, certain discussions can result in much heat. Topics about politics, religion, and controversial topics should be avoided. It doesn't mean you are negated from discussing these topics, just do so privately.

If conversations do end up being heated, agree to disagree and respect each other's opinions without belittling.

Understanding and Open Mindfulness
There are highly experienced members in the Free Company for many different contents. And so there are times when there is critique and/or advices being shared. These should never intended to be derogative, but rather to help you, as a player, grow and gain new knowledge about FFXIV. Be understanding, and if something is unclear, good communication will often resolve it.

Conflict
If there is ever any harassments, danger, or threats instigated from another member to you, contact any of the Leadership Team. We will respond to you as soon as possible and will privately discuss the handling of the matter. However, for your safety, please resolve conflicts privately, it is not fair to other members to be dragged into someone else's business. Each case is different, and so we ask to be patient with how the Leaders will handle it.

Participation
If it ever does come to a time where we cannot involve all members in an event, we ask you to please be patient as we try to include you as best we can.
Note: It is permitted to try and broadcast events in Discord to allow any audience to spectate.

Promotions/Advertisements
We ask that you do not advertise things like other Free Company events, commercial products, etc. This is to maintain an environment more focused on FFXIV, where members won't have to be distracted by other things. We are a community of gamers who share a love for this FFXIV, so please do not ruin people's experiences.

Violations
If there comes a time when a member has violated any of the rules established. The Leaders will address the situation along with stating the solution to it privately. We will keep the individual anonymous for the sake of their reputation. Revoked members must wait a period before they are reconsidered to join the Free Company. Further or heavy escalations will then result in permanent removal without question.

Feedback
Sauce is an ever growing Free Company that welcomes changes and ideas. That being said, we welcome any questions, comments, critiques and/or concerns to our rules, events, structure, and affairs.

Streamers Policy
Backstory:
Since the start of Sauce, one of our fears, when it came to community building, was the awkwardness of having a Twitch vs Pure FFXIV game-based Free Company. To clarify, we didn’t want the Free Company to be a thing where streamers just take in their community members, refer them into the Sauce, and then most likely result in these new members not contributing or interacting with others due to cliques with the streamer they watch. Along with that, in the past, we’ve encountered drama that spanned to other streamers in the community, thus we made the decision to completely separate all of that and to focus on a purely FFXIV community, and enforced the no promotion or mentioning of members streaming.

Our Decision:
As streaming continues to become a massive entity, the strange, grey zone that was still anchored around our current rules on streaming discussion grows. And so we have decided to allow the discussions of streaming and all that with some limits that are focused on in-game moderation. The limitations are that members MUST post in the channel that is dedicated to linking all streaming-related things in Discord. There is no tolerance for it in-game/voice chat because members can’t filter that out. The intention of this channel should really be for sharing experiences captured. Though we don't heavily moderate if you post self-promotions for your streams in this channel, we do wanna clarify that those who are mainly in the Free Company to promote themselves will eventually be asked to leave the Sauce.
These rules will always apply to all members both with the Free Company in-game chats and Discord.
